reviews:
Oh it's so good to fall back on one of the best bands today for
passion, heart, message and dedication to DIY hardcore-punk. These
kids are rockin' it right. Their lyrics are direct and to the
point, supporting morals and ethics, doing the right thing even
when no one is looking, bringing up kids with good role models
and positive influence, calling people on their bragging and supporting
instead the hard work and honestly of those who go unappreciated.
They cover a Spitboy song (Seriously) which fights sexual harassment
against women. What I really love about I Object is that their
views are strong, they will call people on their shit, but they
are real, and down to earth, and posi-as-fuck. There is no complicated
intense political messages, more like daily "Live your own
life, do the right thing, and don't fuck people over, and be happy"
kind of personal politics, but I find this to be more powerful
than some intense anarchistic theories of political revolution.
I Object rule. Their songs are super catchy and full of energy.
They play a perfect combined style of hardcore and punk and will
start a circle pit with their positive energy. I love them!!!
This record is awesome!!! This record was released from France,
but note that the band is from upstate NY [slug & lettuce

I know it sounds stupid when you put the word “female fronted”
in a review, but in this case it is a very important issue! Imagine
this no nonsense hardcore punk that sounds like los crudos, teen
idols and youth brigade (the DC one), with female vocals! Crazy
right? Trying to imagine something like Beki fromVice Squad? Or
maybe Eve Libertine from Crass? You haven’t heard shit!
Barb from I-object is the most pissed off, crazy dominant frontwoman
you ever heard! The only thing I could write when I finished listening
to this 7” was: die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! So I
suggest everybody just buys this 7”, and writes an e-mail
to tell me how many times he/she’d wanted to kill someone

For those who like their thrashy catchy,
I Object blasts 6 political charged songs. I'd describe this as
fast hardcore with a girl shouting. So if you're into Tear It
Up, Municipal Waste, candian/Chicago scene and you're also into
Black Flag catchyness you'll love them. Lyrics deal with social
and scene stuff but what stands out are the explanations, giving
the band or Barb's personal touch to it. Cool artwork showing
a kid being pressured to apply to college, work, drugs, parents,a
nd the way he deals with it!
